Sexual Consent Workshops leads to online abuse

Interesting discussion in itself; do students need sexual consent workshops. Intersting too because the person invovled in rejecting the notion of such workshops was then abused online including, allegedly, accusations of being a rapist.such an accusation might be an actionable comments (grounds for libel/defamation?).

This is a well known video clip. Woman assualts man for flying a drone over a beach. You can see stills and read more about the case here . News outlets reports she now faces up to a year in jail for assault.

Dashcam Evidence (Alleged Murder Scene)

There is a useful summary on the website of  The Guardian . Please note: This footage shows someone being shot. It is at a distance but that is what can be seen. There is the growing use of dashcams (dashboard video cameras) and bodycams (bodyworn video cameras) by police officers. This video shows how a dashcam captured the shooting of a suspect (armed with a knife) by a Chicago Police Officer. This footage has been released by the police department and the officer is currently under arrest. This is a good example of how digital technology oermits the capturing of video evidence. This incident has led to a rise in tension in some communities in Chaicago and elsehwere. This is because it has to be set i nthe context of a campagin called Black Lives Matter, which is a response to a large number of incidents in which black citizens (mainly young men) have been shot by police officers in various parts of the United States. Welcome all! Just a quick hello to everyone on the Hi-Tech Crime (CRIM30290) module. This is a message from Phil who has been teaching you in Term 2.
